A home and support are separate decisions
Specialist Disability Accommodation, or SDA, is housing designed for eligible participants with particular accommodation needs. Supported Independent Living, or SIL, concerns support delivered in a home. An SDA property does not automatically include SIL, nursing or 24 hour support.
Discuss the housing requirements
Tell the team your preferred region, access needs, household preferences and any relevant housing decisions already in place. Ask about current property availability, suitability, costs and the process for viewing a home.
Before agreeing to a property
Confirm eligibility with the relevant parties, the actual property details, any co-residents, the tenancy terms and how support will be arranged. A photograph is not evidence of a current vacancy.
