What Is Allied Health Assistance?

Allied health assistance is support provided by trained professionals and allied health assistants working alongside registered clinicians to deliver therapeutic services, carry out exercise and therapy programs, and support participants in their daily routines. Assistants work under the supervision of qualified allied health professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and psychologists, bridging the gap between clinical appointments and everyday living.

NDIS Funding for Allied Health Services

Most allied health services are funded under the Improved Daily Living (Capacity Building) budget in your NDIS plan, including therapy assessments and reports, ongoing therapy programs, allied health assistant support, positive behaviour support, and skills development. Allied health assistant support may also be funded under Core Supports when an assistant helps with daily living tasks as part of a therapy plan. We work with both plan-managed and self-managed participants and can help you understand how to use your funding effectively.
