Separate the home from the support

A place to live and the assistance delivered there are different decisions. Supported Independent Living relates to support, while Specialist Disability Accommodation relates to eligible housing. Neither should be assumed to include the other.

A living arrangement that fits the person

Discuss personal routines, access, household preferences, support hours and the people the participant wants involved. Ask about the compatibility of any shared arrangement and what choice the participant has.

Plan a move carefully

Equipment, care plans, staffing, travel and ongoing clinical support all need consideration. A housing enquiry does not confirm a vacancy, funding eligibility or a start date.

Support at home or a planned short stay

Prime 1 Care welcomes enquiries about in home assistance, supported living and respite. Services and any accommodation options must be confirmed for the particular region.

Does home and living support mean SDA?

No. Home and living can involve different support and housing arrangements. SDA is one specific type of accommodation for eligible participants, and availability must be confirmed separately.

Can I enquire about support in my current home?

Yes. Tell us your location and the personal, daily living or nursing assistance you need. A move to another property is not required to begin an in home support enquiry.
